Job Title: Financial Coordinator

This position is responsible for managing and monitoring budget/finance for the Children, Youth and Families Department. The Financial Coordinator will serve as the budget analyst for the assigned program or programs, monitoring monthly budget versus expenditure reports to ensure compliance with the General Appropriations Act.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor budget and financial transactions on a monthly and annual basis via the use of budget projections and financial reports from the general ledger.
  • Partner with assigned program/programs to research and analyze inconsistencies in expenditures or non-compliance with non-recurring appropriations.
  • Coordinate conversations with federal grant bureau when needed to ensure compliance with Notice of Grant Awards.
  • Report to the Budget Director and Budget Manager to assist programs with building monthly budget projections.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Two (2) years of directly related experience in budgeting, accounting and/or auditing.
  • Experience managing state, federal, and other financing sources.
  • Experience reconciling to source documents.
  • Experience forecasting expenses and revenue.
  • Experience monitoring complex budgets.
  • Experience presenting fiscal and budget information to large groups.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
