Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Collections Specialist to join our team at Millennium Physicians Association. As a Medical Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for medical billing and accounts receivable follow-up with current and former payer accounts for the Business Office.


Key Responsibilities
  • Claim follow-up and prioritization
  • Review and process Insurance EOBs, denial and rejected claims
  • Respond to denials and file appeals in a timely manner
  • Phone calls to third-party payers to obtain current account status information
  • Determine action necessary to obtain prompt third-party payments
  • Make appropriate and necessary corrections to patient account information
  • Accurately record and communicate patient information

Requirements
  • Minimum of 1+ years experience as a medical collection specialist in a hospital or multi-specialty practice setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of billing practice, CPT codes, and ICD10s
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management software
  • Strong knowledge of payer guidelines and reimbursement policies
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
