Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented AR Collections Specialist to join our team at Medical AR Management Services, LLC. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for maintaining industry standards for accounts receivable and ensuring timely follow-up with internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and resolve unpaid claims, including re-filing and appealing as necessary.
  • Monitor payer rejects and denials to identify systemic or data entry issues and report irregularities to management.
  • Daily follow-up on outstanding assigned insurance claims and claim reports generated by insurance carriers.
  • Post contractual adjustments and transfer deductibles to patient accounts based on correspondence from insurance carriers.
  • Assist with claim resubmission projects and work with supervisors to streamline billing procedures.
  • Review accounts for partial or under payments and prepare spreadsheets for resubmission to payers.
  • Handle correspondence from insurance companies and incoming calls from patients and insurance companies regarding claims and patient balances.
  • Review accounts to ensure accurate billing and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 3 years' experience in healthcare collections, with expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial carriers' collections.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including analysis, problem-solving, attention to detail, and decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to support data quality and integrity initiatives.
  • Great organizational skills and ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to troubleshoot and recommend root cause solutions.
  • Above-average organizational and time management skills, with strong Microsoft Office experience and emphasis on Excel.
  • Knowledge of Federal, state, and HIPAA privacy regulations.
Education/Experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • ACPC certification preferred but not required.
