About the Role

We are seeking a talented Associate Designer to join our dynamic Product Development & Design organization at Target. As an Associate Designer, you will play a key role in supporting the design and development of our kids and toddler apparel and accessories products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and development of kids and toddler apparel and accessories products, including product research, concept development, and design execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sourcing, technical development, and buyers, to ensure product quality and meet business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and product development processes to inform design decisions.
  • Work closely with the Textile and Technical Design teams to ensure brand aesthetics and product quality.
  • Prepare product specifications, PLM system entry, CAD sketching, and communicate with vendors and partners.
Requirements
  • Four-year degree in Fashion Design or similar area of study.
  • 0-4 years of experience in product design, fashion design, or a related field.
  • Computer design system skills, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.
  • Keen eye for detail and nuance within trend and fashion, with a passion for elevated, aspirational design.
  • Understanding of textiles, garment construction/fit, raw materials, and product production.
