Job Description

We're seeking a talented and experienced Director of Product Design to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for overseeing product design policies, objectives, and initiatives. Your expertise will help shape the future of our products and ensure they meet the highest standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide creative direction and output to ensure the overall vision for the product is achieved
  • Lead, recruit, coach, and mentor a team of world-class product designers and user researchers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and champion user-centered culture and design practices
  • Create visually engaging, innovative, and functional digital products
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and communicate the impact of this practice on design
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, quality assurance, and leadership to ensure a cohesive user experience across all products
  • Establish metrics and measurable goals to ensure visibility into the design's impact on business
  • Advocate the importance of User-Centered Design and mentoring designers on the design process and deliverables
  • Drive a framework to ensure career progression and development paths for designers
  • Identify improvement opportunities within the scope of design and other teams functioning holistically
  • Build a design culture that encourages innovation while balancing the need for optimization
  • Communicate the value of design thinking and a customer-first approach to strategy across all areas of the business
  • Partner closely with leaders in engineering, product, sales, marketing, and other departments to constantly improve on communication and efficiency practices
Requirements
  • 3+ years experience as a Design Director or UX Design Manager
  • 2+ years experience as a product designer
  • Have 4-6+ years of experience shipping products and collaborating with developers
  • 3+ years leading a design team
  • Deep knowledge of UX research and appropriate application of methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of design systems, information architecture, and Material and iOS design languages
  • Solid understanding of user-centric design methods across the digital product design process
  • Portfolio with strong case studies of leading successful product design and evolution
Desired Skills
  • Familiar with tools such as GitHub to collaborate with engineers and manage design assets
  • Experience with hi-fidelity prototyping tools
  • Knowledge and awareness of front-end technologies such as CSS/HTML
  • Proficiency in UX design principles and methodologies
  • Experience in auditing and evaluating design assets
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS design best practices
  • Ability to create wireframes and interactive prototypes
  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma and Adobe Suite
  • Proficiency with collaborative and project management tools like Slack and Asana
