Job Summary:

The Department of Water & Power City of Los Angeles is seeking a skilled Boilermaker to join our team. As a Boilermaker, you will be responsible for fabricating, constructing, assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining pressure vessels and auxiliary equipment, penstocks, tanks, ducts boilers, heat exchangers, and other pressure vessels and accessories.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, construct, assemble, install, repair, and maintain pressure vessels and auxiliary equipment, penstocks, tanks, ducts boilers, heat exchangers, and other pressure vessels and accessories.
• Perform skilled work in fabrication, construction, assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of pressure vessels and auxiliary equipment, penstocks, tanks, ducts boilers, heat exchangers, and other pressure vessels and accessories.
• Work with a variety of materials, including metal, wood, and other materials, to fabricate and assemble equipment and components.
• Use a range of tools and equipment, including welding equipment, cutting torches, and hand tools, to perform tasks.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and to a high standard.

Requirements:

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a boilermaker or six years of full-time paid experience as a boilermaker helper.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• Work will be performed in a variety of settings, including fabrication shops, construction sites, and maintenance facilities.
• May be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• May be required to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
