Pharmacist - Los Angeles County

The County of Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team. As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing expert information to healthcare staff, patients, and others about drugs and other pharmaceuticals. You will also be responsible for screening prescriptions and medication orders, monitoring patient conditions, and supervising the preparation of drug labels.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert information to healthcare staff, patients, and others about drugs and other pharmaceuticals.
- Screen prescriptions and medication orders for completeness, proper authorization, dosage and quantity, therapeutic compatibility, drug interactions, and allergies.
- Monitor the condition of patients through observation of physical or laboratory reactions to drug therapy and report findings to attending physician.
- Supervise or perform the preparation of drug labels and ensure the inclusion of appropriate directions for the timing, methods, and precautions to be observed in taking the medication.
- Take drug histories and participate as drug consultant with the medical staff and patients in the selection of drug therapy for individual patients.
- Provide technical supervision to Pharmacy Technicians and Intern Pharmacists in the prepacking of pharmaceuticals.
- A current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
- PHYSICAL CLASS II - Light: Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting.
