Boilermaker Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled Boilermaker to join our team at the Department of Water & Power City of Los Angeles. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, constructing, assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining pressure vessels and auxiliary equipment, penstocks, tanks, ducts boilers, heat exchangers, and other pressure vessels and accessories.

• Fabricate, construct, assemble, install, repair, and maintain pressure vessels and auxiliary equipment, penstocks, tanks, ducts boilers, heat exchangers, and other pressure vessels and accessories.
• Perform skilled work in fabrication, construction, assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of pressure vessels and auxiliary equipment.
• Work with various materials, including metal, to fabricate and assemble equipment.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety principles, practices, and procedures as required by Cal-OSHA.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth operation of equipment and facilities.

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a boilermaker or six years of full-time paid experience as a boilermaker helper.
• Valid California driver's license and welding certification (if required by the position).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

The examination will consist entirely of an evaluation of professional and personal qualifications by interview. The interview will assess the candidate's judgment, decision-making, stress tolerance, mechanical aptitude, teamwork, credibility, and ability to follow oral directions.
