About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lead Police Officer at Navy Region Northwest. As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in protecting our nation's security by safeguarding Navy installations, personnel, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Defend installation personnel, equipment, and resources from terrorist threats or hostile attacks.
  • Detect and respond to threats to restricted areas, and detain, apprehend, apply restraints, and transport violators as required.
  • Conduct vehicle searches, inspect packages and personal belongings when admitting personnel into controlled or restricted areas or during increased FPCONs or a specific security incident.
  • Conduct investigations that are below the current Defense Criminal Investigative Organization or dedicated Investigator/Detective threshold.
  • Conduct traffic management as required.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate the following:

  • Performing law enforcement (LE), physical security (PS), antiterrorism (AT), and force protection (FP) functions.
  • Conducting preliminary and/or ongoing investigations of incidents.
  • Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations.
  • Distributing workload to junior officers in accordance with priority and skill level.
