Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

As a Technical Support Specialist at Lantech, your role will encompass:

  • Delivering technical assistance through various channels including phone, email, and video for all Lantech products to customers, service technicians, and spare parts coordinators.
  • Documenting and diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and programming challenges.
  • Collaborating with internal departments (engineering, manufacturing, sales, etc.) to devise solutions for issues.
  • Monitoring and following up on outstanding service requests.
  • Ensuring comprehensive documentation of service tickets, including all relevant data and communications.
  • Programming PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Light Curtains, and other devices for the parts team.
  • Submitting requests to the parts department for warranty and contract parts orders and quotes based on field service technician needs.

Work Schedule: The work schedule is Monday to Friday (8 hours/day) with occasional shifts to cover early or late hours (10am-7pm). There may also be a requirement for after-hours support, which could involve coming into the facility to retrieve a part from a machine or programming a component for the Lantech Parts Team.

Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Possess 3-5 years of experience in servicing, testing, maintaining, or providing troubleshooting support for controls-based industrial machinery.
  • Have a solid understanding of PLC logic.
  • Are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and exhibit excellent customer service skills along with a strong technical aptitude.
  • Can interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience troubleshooting RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000-based PLC logic.
  • Familiarity with WinMan software.

Educational Background:

  • An Associate's degree in a technical discipline is preferred, though a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience will be considered.
