Role Summary:

The Medical Device Service Technician position allows you to utilize your technical skills by assisting Field Service Technicians in various tasks related to medical devices within a clinical environment. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repairing, and updating medical equipment with the guidance of an on-site team. As a partner of one of the leading medical device firms in the industry, there is a clear pathway to advance to a Field Service Technician role.

This position requires 100% per diem travel, with potential assignments lasting 3-4 weeks at a time. Work is based on assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support field service personnel in organizing, testing, and updating medical devices, as well as installing and configuring hardware, software, and network products.
  • Assist in the manual handling and unpacking of medical equipment from shipping or storage.
  • Set up and organize workstations and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and document data from product tests following installation and configuration.
  • Work on an assignment-based schedule with a commitment of 40+ hours per week when on assignment.
  • Travel nationally to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and provide support to hospital staff on-site.
  • Deliver on-the-job training for new team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of technical experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. Other relevant field technician experience will be considered.
  • A valid and unrestricted driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for local assignments are mandatory. Travel time and mileage will be reimbursed.
  • Proficiency with basic software applications and the Microsoft operating system is required.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble medical equipment is essential.
  • Capability to stand and sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds is necessary.
  • Ability to meet hospital vendor credentialing requirements, including proof of vaccination status.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with hardware components such as bezels, keypads, buttons, and batteries.
  • Familiarity with software tasks including calibrations, networking, and updates.
  • Ability to set up and organize equipment and workstations effectively.
  • Experience in conducting routine checks and documenting data from product tests.
