Human Resources Manager Job Description

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Location: Hackensack, NJ – (Hybrid)

Salary: $125K-$135K

Established Law Firm Seeks HR Manager to Support Team

Responsibilities:
  • Provide managerial and administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer in various areas, including human resource functions, firm recruiting, hiring, development, and retention programs.
  • Determine staffing needs for the firm, meet and maintain benchmarked staffing ratios and trends, and oversee non-exempt personnel.
  • Oversee employee relations and resolution of employment conflicts, work with firm personnel to ensure compliance in handling requests for leaves of absence, and coordinate with the Chief Human Resources Officer and Payroll and Benefits Coordinator regarding firm benefit plans.
  • Ensure the firm has updated standard job descriptions for support staff, ensure timely review of job descriptions and position specifications, and keep firm Managing Partners and Chief Human Resources Officer informed of HR matters.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer or Firm Managing Partners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field, or a comparable level of training.
  • Approximately 4+ years of progressively responsible work experience with legal or other professional service organizations.
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex issues, recommend and implement solutions, and maintain effective professional relationships with partners, attorneys, and staff.
  • Broad knowledge of law firm services, policies, and procedures, and a working knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft.
