This position reports to

Regional Service Manager - North

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will oversee Resident Field Service within the Process Automation Energy Industries Service sector. The work model for this role is: Onsite. This position contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries division in Automation & Electrification. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Delivering site services to ensure safe and efficient plant operations utilizing the ABB 800xA Distributed Control Systems.
• Managing all periodic, routine, preventive maintenance, and shutdown support as part of your duties (ABB Technical and Advanced Services will provide additional assistance where applicable at your direction).
• Diagnosing high to medium complexity issues related to distributed control system hardware and software, while managing technical support requests on behalf of the customer to enhance system performance.
• Effectively liaising with all site stakeholders to ensure that all contracted services meet or exceed expectations.
• Assisting in projects for hardware and software upgrades, system modifications, and additions, both online and offline.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or Automation & Control is preferred, or equivalent military technical training with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. A unique combination of education and experience, along with demonstrated accomplishments, will also be considered.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft, networking, cybersecurity, and ABB 800xA Distributed Control Systems is essential.
  • Extensive experience in process automation is required, with a solid understanding of systems maintenance, configuration, and process control.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, and a valid driver's license is required. ABB offers relocation assistance.
  • Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
