Position: Senior HVAC Service Technician

Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly qualified and seasoned Senior HVAC Service Technician to take on a pivotal role within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess over a decade of experience in the HVAC sector, showcasing expertise in the installation, upkeep, and repair of sophisticated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. A strong focus on customer satisfaction, technical proficiency, and the ability to guide junior technicians through complex projects is essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, examination, maintenance, and repair of cutting-edge HVAC systems, including high-efficiency air conditioning units, heating systems, intricate ventilation setups, commercial refrigeration systems, Rooftop Units, Split Systems, Water-Source Heat Pumps, Air Handlers, and VRF Systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of HVAC equipment failures and issues, addressing problems with coils, motors, belts, boards, relays, actuators, and filters, and providing comprehensive solutions beyond basic repairs.
  • Organize and manage the materials necessary for service projects and repairs, ensuring efficient and timely service delivery.
  • Install HVAC equipment, refrigerant piping, control wiring, and control devices, leveraging electrical knowledge as a valuable asset.
  • Interpret equipment submittals, operational sequences, and scopes of work; familiarity with blueprints and construction plans is advantageous.
  • Conduct and supervise routine maintenance services, ensuring systems operate at peak performance and energy efficiency.
  • Provide emergency repair services during off-hours, including weekends and holidays, with a focus on minimizing client downtime.
  • Document and report all service and maintenance activities accurately, including detailed records of time spent, parts utilized, and professional recommendations for further action.
  • Effectively communicate with clients to explain advanced service options, system upgrades, and necessary repairs, ensuring they comprehend the value and necessity of the work performed.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and regulations during service, installation, and maintenance tasks, setting a benchmark for junior team members.
  • Guide and mentor junior HVAC technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance the team's overall capabilities.
  • Collaborate with management to devise strategies for improving service efficiency, customer satisfaction, and team performance.
  • Instruct and assist junior mechanics and helpers in conjunction with the leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced vocational training or certification in HVAC is highly preferred.
  • EPA certification (Type I & II or Universal) is mandatory; additional certifications or licenses are beneficial.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as an HVAC technician, with extensive experience in both residential and commercial systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and repair techniques, with a proven history of addressing complex service challenges.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work independently, manage multiple high-priority tasks, and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical clients.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Possess necessary personal hand and power tools required for HVAC service work.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is conducted in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Frequent travel to job sites is required.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, and potential hazards.
  • Availability for on-call rotations, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay: $40 - $55 per hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
