SUMMARY

The Retail Process Optimization Engineer plays a crucial role in the ideation, planning, and execution of engineering initiatives aimed at enhancing store operations and reducing costs. This position focuses on identifying opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and implement engineering design principles alongside Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) to uncover areas for improvement. The Engineer collaborates closely with Store Operations and Training teams to ensure comprehensive project support across functions. As process enhancements are rolled out, the Engineer is also tasked with developing and maintaining process documentation in partnership with Store Operations and Training. This role impacts in-store processes across a vast network of locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, plan, and execute innovative ideas for process improvements.
  • Oversee process enhancement projects through to completion, utilizing DMAIC methodology.
  • Establish and validate current in-store time standards.
  • Draft and disseminate store communications.
  • Analyze extensive data sets to extract meaningful insights and create actionable summaries.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain all engineering documentation related to newly implemented processes.
  • Foster relationships with field teams, including during site visits.
  • Ensure that training programs incorporate the most effective methods.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Education: Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

Minimum Experience: 0-2 years of experience related to Lean / Six Sigma methodologies.

Preferred Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience and/or over 6 years in retail store operations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
