Senior Staff Engineer

The Senior Staff Engineer (SSE) will deliver Engineering, Operations & Controls support for API Management Ecosystem management tasks associated with system software, hardware, performance, IT Service Management, and Resiliency Support.

The SSE is expected to independently manage essential communication and coordination with vendors, technicians, clients, and provide updates to management.

This role will also contribute technical insights to management's decision-making processes regarding software, hardware, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of API Ecosystem:
Oversee the operational aspects of API Management (Apigee/DataPower) and possess knowledge of IBM ACE, IBM MQ, or AWS API Gateway.

Risk & Control Knowledge:
Understand the Risk & Control processes and translate control domain requirements for technology.

Change Management Expertise:
Possess comprehensive knowledge of the Change Management Lifecycle, including federal regulations, vendor implications, and freeze guidelines.

Technical Infrastructure Acumen:
Demonstrate proficiency in Virtualization, Infrastructure, and Network configurations.

Internal Controls Navigation:
Ability to work with Internal Tech Controls, Internal & External Audit, and second line of defense (2LOD).

Data Center Migration Knowledge:
Have familiarity with data center migrations.

Position Responsibilities:

Design & Methodology:
Collaborate closely with business units, application teams, infrastructure sectors, and vendors to identify, review, and assess solution requirements.
Investigate and propose strategic opportunities for virtualization, consolidation, and rationalization within the infrastructure or business.
Propose modifications to technical design solutions as necessary.

Technical Consulting:
Provide client consulting and planning guidance for moderate to complex projects.
Collaborate with other functional infrastructure areas/departments on multiple initiatives to achieve common organizational/business objectives.
Engage in consulting with project teams on architectural, design development, and integration opportunities for complex systems.

Planning & Organizing:
Map requirements into standard service solutions, identify opportunities for integration with existing technologies, and provide cost-effective solutions for moderate to large complex projects/programs/initiatives.
Review, identify, and manage requirements for moderate to complex solutions, conducting cost-value, feasibility, and risk analyses.

Risk Management:
Review, participate in, develop, and update architectural standards, guiding principles, rationales, and strategies.
Evaluate, review, and approve highly complex design solutions for business and infrastructure projects or initiatives.

Administration:
Keep management informed of the status of activities through accurate, timely, and appropriate reporting.
Actively participate in committees representing the department and/or planning unit.

Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Technology-related field, or equivalent through a combination of education and/or technology experience, or 12 years of technology experience.
• 6 years of experience identifying technical solutions for complex business challenges, assessing the benefits and risks of solutions, and providing recommendations.
• 5 years of experience in technology.

Work Environment:
Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days.

Hours:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

Salary:
To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience.
