Position Summary
The Software and Controls Automation Engineering Manager will leverage their extensive knowledge in software and controls to ensure that engineering teams are equipped with the necessary tools, methodologies, and standards to achieve both organizational and personal growth objectives effectively.

- Supervise the design and integration of controls, automation, and electrical systems to meet quality, cost, and innovation targets.
- Encourage collaboration with other departments, including project management and quality assurance.
- Represent the organization professionally in interactions with clients and stakeholders.
- Regularly assess team skills and develop tailored coaching and development plans to support individual growth.
- Provide training on new tools, processes, and architectural methodologies.
- Maintain accurate records of team labor for both internal and external projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline; experience in a manufacturing engineering context is advantageous.
- Over 10 years of management experience in software and controls engineering (or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of experience in controls, automation, and electrical systems design and integration.
- Minimum of 5 years in engineering design for automation equipment.
- Familiarity with machine programming systems and methodologies.
- Proficient in managing software engineers using various programming languages and data transaction systems.
- Expertise in controls logic and SCADA telemetry protocols.
- Experience with version control tools for software and controls.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and ensure compliance with standards.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical safety regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Preferred experience in project engineering for over 5 years.
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Knowledge of Bill of Materials and MRP systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools.
