Position Summary

The Software and Controls Automation Engineering Manager will leverage their extensive knowledge in software and controls, paired with exceptional organizational and strategic planning skills.   • Verify that technical drawings and system specifications align with company standards.
  • Manage daily operations and performance of assigned team members.

  • Encourage collaboration with other departments, including project management, quality assurance, and production.
  • Represent the company with professionalism in interactions with clients, engineers, and project managers.
  • Regularly assess team capabilities and create development plans to support personal and professional growth.
  • Provide training on new processes, tools, and architectural design methodologies.
  • Maintain precise labor reporting for both internal and external projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline; experience in a manufacturing engineering context is advantageous.
  • Over 10 years of experience in software and controls engineering management (or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in controls, automation, and electrical systems design and integration.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing automation equipment.
  • Familiarity with machine programming systems and methodologies.
  • Proficient in managing software engineers utilizing both Procedural and Object-Oriented Programming Languages, along with data transaction systems like SQL Server and Postgres.
  • Provide expert guidance on controls logic and the deployment of SCADA telemetry protocols.
  • Experience in establishing and managing version control tools for software and controls.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and provide guidance on adherence to standards for quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of ISO, ANSI, CSA, and other relevant electrical safety regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Preferred experience includes over 5 years in project engineering.
  • Strong grasp of manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials and MRP systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools.
