Job Title: Market Recreational Therapist

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Unit, you will play a vital role in evaluating and providing therapeutic activities for patients on both our Danville and Martinsville campuses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with primary care counselors, utilizing therapeutic, recreational, and leisure activities.
  • Evaluate patient progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions, making adjustments as needed.
  • Plan and assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment settings, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Provide patients and their families with information on leisure lifestyles and create awareness of recreational resources in their community.

We require critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, are also essential to ensure continuity of care and therapy coverage.

Minimum Work Experience: One (1) year of experience in a psychiatric or healthcare setting is preferred.
