Position Description

The Buyer/Planner II is responsible for executing procurement and planning activities for materials and commodities as assigned. Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling purchased materials to align with inventory targets and production timelines.
  • Ensuring product quality standards are met by collaborating with Quality Control and Systems Engineering teams.
  • Maintaining the Approved Supplier List (ASL) in coordination with Quality and Engineering departments.
  • Negotiating with suppliers based on quotes and proposals to select the most suitable sources that meet cost, quality, and delivery criteria.
  • Acting as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments to address procurement-related issues.
  • Resolving discrepancies related to materials, packing lists, certifications, and quantities with suppliers.
  • Assisting in the logistics and packaging of inbound and outbound materials.
  • Driving cost improvements and managing the supply chain to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Implementing processes and methods developed by Operations/Manufacturing Teams, reviewing products, and ensuring that only qualified processes are released to production.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field, along with 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or inventory management.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess ERP data, investigate material and quality issues, and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to manage change order processes with suppliers.
  • Commitment to maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance within the Quality Management System.
  • Ability to work independently and develop innovative approaches to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience in FDA, ISO13485, GDP, GLP, and GMP environments.
