Position Summary
The Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician, under supervision, executes a variety of skilled maintenance tasks for the facilities department at Millennium Space Systems. Responsibilities encompass skilled maintenance duties such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, grounds upkeep, electrical work, heating, ventilation, machine maintenance and repair, and HVAC systems. Additionally, the incumbent will mentor and train junior staff to ensure that facilities are accessible and consistently maintained in a safe and orderly manner, while performing related duties as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision and Leadership: Senior technicians frequently oversee and guide a team of maintenance personnel. They may be tasked with delegating responsibilities, providing training, and ensuring efficient and effective task completion.
- Maintenance Planning: Senior technicians often participate in the planning and scheduling of maintenance operations for the facility. This may involve creating preventive maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs and upgrades, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Senior technicians are accountable for diagnosing and resolving issues with various equipment and systems within the facility, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other essential operational equipment.
- Safety and Compliance: Senior technicians must guarantee that maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies. This includes identifying potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, and training staff on safe working practices.
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Capability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in various heights and confined spaces
- Basic computer proficiency
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is mandatory.
- NATE certification (HVAC)
- EPA Universal license 608
- Level 1 infrared thermographer certification
- Experience in machine maintenance within a manufacturing setting
- Active security clearance
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLC)
- Knowledge of California building codes
- Aerospace industry experience
- Experience maintaining clean rooms at various classifications
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in various heights and confined spaces
Please note that the salary information provided below is a general guideline of what is reasonably expected for this position. Salaries are determined based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
- Grade 24: $44.71
Union Information
This is an hourly position governed by the Labor Union Carpenters Local 721 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
