Position Summary:

Heating Systems Technicians are tasked with the installation, upkeep, and repair of both residential and commercial heating and cooling systems, including associated tanks and piping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at various customer locations.
  • Maintain effective communication with office personnel, ensuring schedules are adhered to and any delays are promptly communicated to clients.
  • Follow a standardized procedure for customer visits:
  • Document all equipment upon arrival, including make, model, serial number, fuel type, necessary test measurements, and applicable photographs.
  • Diagnose a variety of electrical and mechanical service issues.
  • Clearly explain the identified issues and proposed solutions to customers.
  • Understand and effectively communicate company pricing and service offerings to clients.
  • Perform repairs by sourcing necessary replacement parts, calibrating systems according to manufacturer specifications, and thoroughly testing components for optimal functionality.
  • Identify and report potential opportunities for additional services to management.
  • Conclude visits by obtaining customer signatures and accurate client information.
  • Notify dispatch of any issues that may affect service delivery.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the service vehicle.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is well-maintained, including regular cleaning, refueling, and reporting mechanical issues.
  • Participate in training sessions provided by the company to stay updated on the latest industry technologies.
  • Conduct visual inspections of oil tanks, documenting conditions with photographs and descriptions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in oil service or equipment sales is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid NH oil burner service license.
  • EPA 608 certification is preferred.
  • Clean driving record in MA/NH.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Must be able to pass company-required drug and alcohol tests, as well as a physical examination.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts.

Compensation:

This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Compensation is based on a range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
