Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technician (Limited Scope) is responsible for conducting diagnostic imaging examinations under the guidance of a licensed Radiologic Technologist or Radiologist. This role emphasizes the production of high-quality radiographs while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The technician must comply with all regulatory standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Radiographic Procedures: Execute limited-scope radiographic examinations, including chest and extremities, as directed by the supervising technologist or physician.
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them accurately, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain radiographic machinery, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
  • Image Quality: Generate high-quality radiographic images for diagnostic evaluation, ensuring clarity and adherence to required standards.
  • Documentation: Keep precise patient records and documentation, including updating charts and entering data into the hospital information system.
  • Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, infection control policies, and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations for limited scope radiography.
  • Patient Care: Deliver exceptional patient care, addressing patient needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a focus on limited scope radiography.
  • Certification: Current certification in limited scope radiography as mandated by the state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clinical environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Skills: Proficient in performing limited-scope radiographic exams, strong communication and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities, and basic computer skills for documentation and patient record management.
Working Conditions

Environment: The role is performed in a clinical setting with exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bodily fluids. Adherence to proper protective equipment and safety measures is essential.

Physical Demands: The position requires standing for extended periods, lifting and positioning patients, and handling radiographic equipment.
