Position Overview

The Radiology Technician (Limited Scope) is responsible for conducting diagnostic imaging procedures under the guidance of a licensed Radiologic Technologist or Radiologist. This role focuses on delivering high-quality radiographs while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Radiographic Procedures: Execute limited-scope radiographic examinations, including but not limited to chest and extremities, as directed by the supervising technologist or physician.
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Equipment Management: Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order and adheres to safety standards.
  • Image Quality Assurance: Generate high-quality radiographic images that meet diagnostic requirements, ensuring clarity and compliance with standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain precise patient records and documentation, including updating charts and entering data into the healthcare information system.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, infection control policies, and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations for limited scope radiography.
  • Patient Care: Deliver exceptional patient care, addressing patient needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program focusing on limited scope radiography.
  • Certification: Current certification in limited scope radiography as mandated by state regulations. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clinical environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Skills: Proficient in performing limited-scope radiographic exams, with strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and basic computer proficiency for documentation.
Working Conditions

This role is performed in a clinical environment, with exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bodily fluids. Adherence to safety measures and the use of protective equipment is essential. The position requires standing for extended periods, lifting and positioning patients, and managing radiographic equipment.
