Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the work of personnel engaged in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and within financial parameters. Address any issues that arise during operations and manage contracts with external service providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and materials by completing necessary documentation and developing work schedules for staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, providing written assessments regarding repair costs and maintenance needs for HVAC systems. Direct and supervise employees on various projects, ensuring proper maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Stay informed on advancements in technology, procedures, and materials by reviewing relevant industry publications and safety regulations. Advise management on necessary equipment updates and provide cost estimates for replacements.
  • Manage employee assignments and schedules, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Facilitate safety training for employees to minimize injury risks and investigate any workplace incidents, compiling reports based on findings.
  • Prioritize and schedule work assignments based on urgency and significance.
  • May assign personnel for snow and ice removal tasks, determining the necessary tools and equipment for the job.
  • Engage in training and development initiatives, encouraging team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties as required to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Job Requirements

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Certification, AND:

  • A minimum of 96 months of experience in construction or building maintenance related to HVAC systems, including at least 24 months in a supervisory capacity.

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of materials and tools used in refrigeration maintenance and installation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building codes and necessary permits.
  • Ability to interpret and create complex schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex issues, develop solutions, and implement them effectively.
  • Capability to estimate costs associated with materials, labor, and external contractors.
  • Proficient in supervisory practices.

Certifications:

  • Oklahoma Unlimited Mechanical Contractors License.
  • EPA Refrigeration Certification.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform reaching, stooping, and bending tasks. Good vision and depth perception are required.
  • Environmental: Exposure to varying weather conditions and potential safety hazards.

Supervision: Responsible for overseeing a team of Senior HVAC Mechanics and Leads.
