Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. is in search of a proactive Human Resources Specialist who possesses expertise in managing HR policies and procedures. This role involves overseeing the onboarding of new employees, benefits management, FMLA leave processes, and daily HR operations. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong analytical skills, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while focusing on continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and document all Leaves of Absences for both union and non-union personnel.
- Administer leave pay in accordance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Manage Benefits Administration for non-union staff.
- Facilitate New Hire orientations for non-union personnel.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparation of documentation and maintenance of personnel files.
- Provide daily internal customer support.
- Collaborate with Payroll and other systems to update employee records as necessary.
- Handle correspondence and documentation required for leave processing.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal standards.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while managing personnel records.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related discipline.
- PHR Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with HRIS systems, particularly Viewpoint Construction Software, is required.
- Background in the construction industry or union settings is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and resolve issues as they arise.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on conflict resolution.
- Collaborative team player who can prioritize tasks effectively.
- Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in all work-related matters.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- General work environment includes sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
