Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing and executing SEO strategies for individual clients of Rocket Clicks. This role involves daily SEO analysis to drive performance results, attending internal sprint meetings and client calls to foster client confidence, and prioritizing critical tasks to find efficiencies through automation and delegation.

Performance Objectives

  • Own strategic decisions within paid media, including platform selection, messaging map, creative deployment, optimization emphasis, and targeting criteria.
  • Execute Rocket Clicks' playbook for the particular client industry.
  • Ensure account execution follows company First Principles methodology.
  • Analyze performance data for monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Own and delegate paid media tasks within weekly sprint planning framework.
  • Ideate experiments for client accounts designed to produce the highest likelihood of performance improvement.
  • Work with design and editing partners to ensure campaigns are using the most compelling ad creative.
  • Manage media mix and budget allocation across ad platforms to achieve results and stay within client expectations.
  • Act as Quality Assurance for all conversion tracking, quickly identifying breaks that would render reporting less valuable.
  • Document client-specific tasks for delegation to other team members.
  • Attend client meetings as subject matter expert.
  • Audit other client accounts and prospect accounts for opportunity harvesting and strategy validation.
  • Contribute to iterative documentation improvements of industry team and paid media discipline.

Capabilities & Key Competencies

  • Extensive budget management experience, successfully managing SEO campaigns with a total monthly budget exceeding $100,000 across various brands and accounts.
  • Integrated SEO strategy development, crafting and implementing cohesive, multi-platform SEO strategies that enhance organic visibility and support overall digital marketing goals.
  • Expertise in customer acquisition funnels, possessing a deep understanding of the modern digital customer acquisition funnel and its intersection with SEO tactics.
  • Forward-looking SEO planning, maintaining a detailed six-month roadmap of SEO initiatives and tasks, aligning with business objectives and adapting to market trends.
  • KPI management and reporting, tracking, managing, and reporting on defined SEO performance KPIs, leveraging insights to optimize strategies and drive improvements.
  • Long-term forecasting and budgeting, conducting strategic forecasting and budget planning for SEO efforts on six-month or longer timeframes to ensure sustained growth.
  • Advanced conversion tracking skills, setting up and troubleshooting conversion tracking for digital analytics, ensuring accurate data collection to inform SEO decisions.
  • SEO tool proficiency, demonstrating expertise with key SEO tools and platforms such as Google Search Console, Moz, and SEMrush to enhance performance analysis and reporting.
  • Collaboration with paid search and social teams, working closely with paid search and social media teams to integrate SEO strategies with paid efforts for a comprehensive digital marketing approach.
  • Programmatic advertising experience, understanding how SEO aligns with programmatic platforms like StackAdapt and to create a cohesive marketing strategy.

Education & Experience

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experiential knowledge.
  • Prior experience working in a professional services organization.
  • 3+ years professional experience in digital marketing, 2+ specialized in SEO.
  • Prior experience working with or for lead generation companies.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working.
  • This position may require up to 10% travel.

Pay Range

The pay range for this role is $60,000 - $100,000 per year (remote).
