Job Title: Director of Sound Recording Rights Management

At SoundExchange, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Sound Recording Rights Management team. As a key member of our Royalty Processing and Business Intelligence department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of sound recording repertoire claims, ensuring the accuracy and quality of rights and repertoire data, and managing relationships with major record companies, distributors, and industry organizations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee sound recording repertoire claims from performers and Sound Recording Copyright Owners
  • Ensure accurate payment of royalties based on rights information
  • Manage relationships with major record companies, distributors, and industry organizations
  • Oversee matching usage data from various sources to Sound Recordings and linking Sound Recordings to Musical Works
  • Develop and implement standardized workflows for team activities
  • Develop and track metrics to measure department objectives
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in the music industry, preferably in sound recording rights management
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies and processes
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing multiple teams
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with large data sets and manage multiple high-priority projects
