Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic IV to join our facilities management team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safe operation and maintenance of building facilities, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, piping, and electrical wiring.
  • Conduct surveys and inventories of equipment and facilities to identify areas for improvement and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities, respond to customer complaints, and repair equipment as needed.
  • Repair and adjust doors, windows, closures, panic devices, and locks.
  • Patch holes, install escutcheons, and repair ceiling and floor tile as needed to maintain building appearance.
  • Make minor masonry and wood repairs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and written technical documents to locate areas of trouble and complete repairs accurately.
  • Inspect, operate, repair, and maintain equipment in their area of competency.
  • May perform chemical tests on a daily basis on chilled water, condenser water, steam, and hot water systems.
  • Adjust chemical mixtures and feed rates as needed to ensure proper levels of water treatment chemicals are maintained.
  • Enter data into computer systems.
  • Maintain records and files; interpret applicable regulations and filing and auditing policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Working knowledge in their area of competency of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, plant operations, structural, or general carpentry.
  • May require a valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
