We are in search of an Insurance Benefits Coordinator who will be instrumental in facilitating our patients' ability to utilize their health insurance benefits for mental health care. This position entails assessing and confirming patient eligibility for services.

This is a full-time role based in our corporate offices, with work hours varying between 8am-6pm (EST). We offer a competitive compensation range of $18-$20/hour (commensurate with education and experience) along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes 401(k) with company matching, paid time off, and medical/dental/vision coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and confirm insurance coverage and mental health benefits, including in-network providers and pre-authorization requirements.
  • Identify specific insurance prerequisites to complete the verification process.
  • Collaborate with insurance providers to obtain coverage estimates for patients' mental health treatment plans.
  • Conduct extensive insurance research to identify the most economical options for patients.
  • Maintain precise and current patient insurance records within our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Provide clear documentation of insurance payer plans, including patient coverage details and provider options.
  • Monitor and report trends and delays in reimbursements.
  • Work alongside management and clinical teams to identify potential insurance obstacles and devise solutions to enhance patient access.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare insurance, particularly with mental health benefits preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Commitment to mental health advocacy and reducing healthcare disparities.
