Job Overview:

This role is accountable for overseeing the daily activities of service providers to guarantee high-quality service, enhance performance, and ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards. The supervisor fosters customer engagement through the development of strong relationships, addresses customer inquiries, identifies business growth opportunities, and cultivates a customer-centric work environment. A valid DOT certification and prior UPS package car driving experience are essential for effectively managing operational performance with service providers and other hourly staff as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and collaborates with on-road personnel to optimize efficiency and ensure that packages are delivered safely, promptly, and professionally. This includes utilizing performance metrics and quality improvement processes to monitor achievements against objectives, facilitating the execution of daily dispatch plans, and conducting on-road supervision/audit rides.
  • Maintains operational effectiveness by creating and executing efficient work process strategies, diagnosing service inefficiencies, reviewing workflows and schedules, and monitoring expenses against budget.
  • Applies knowledge of policies and procedures to operational situations.
  • Contributes to the formulation and execution of work process strategies to enhance center efficiency and achieve business objectives.
  • Ensures the establishment and upkeep of a comprehensive health and safety program.
  • Conducts audits for risk management and safety compliance.
  • Utilizes understanding of company structure and operations to resolve issues, make informed decisions, and achieve business goals.
  • Maintains employee safety training and certifications.
  • Employs workforce planning expertise to assess labor markets and develop strategies for talent acquisition.
  • Identifies employee training requirements to create ongoing development plans.
  • Provides constructive feedback and support.
  • Conducts performance assessments and addresses individual and group performance challenges.
  • Encourages a collaborative work atmosphere through continuous communication and relationship building.
  • Utilizes legal, regulatory, and safety compliance knowledge to mitigate company risks.
  • Evaluates, identifies, measures, and monitors customer or business needs and trends.
  • Mentors and develops team members using career development tools and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or an equivalent international qualification).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
  • Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions.
  • Must be currently located in the same geographic area as the job or willing to relocate.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have prior UPS package car driving experience.
  • Ability to lift 70lbs/32 kgs.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, up to 5 days per week.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Must be DOT certified and willing to undergo a physical examination, including a driving assessment.
  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree (or an equivalent international qualification) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience.

Our compensation reflects the labor market across various U.S. regions. The base salary for this position ranges from $101,400/year in our lowest geographic market to $148,752/year in our highest geographic market. Compensation is influenced by several factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education/training, and the candidate's work experience. Hired candidates may qualify for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs based on the position level. Payments under these programs are not guaranteed and depend on various factors, including individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's overall performance.

Hired candidates may be eligible for a range of benefits, including medical/prescription drug coverage, dental and vision benefits, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, life insurance, disability income protection, employee assistance programs, educational assistance, 401(k) retirement plans, vacation, paid holidays, personal time, and paid sick/family and medical leave as mandated by law, along with a discounted employee stock purchase program.
