Position Overview

About the Role of Hospice Aide (CNA)

HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care is in search of a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to become a vital part of our compassionate hospice team.

This role involves delivering care to patients at our inpatient hospice facility, ensuring that their needs and those of their families are met with dignity and respect.

The responsibilities of a hospice aide are organized and delegated by a registered nurse to align with the specific needs of patients and their families.

The hospice aide is responsible for providing personal care in accordance with the established care plan.

This is a part-time night position, requiring availability from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend, and it offers eligibility for various benefits.

Key Responsibilities of a Hospice Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):

  • Deliver personal care services to patients
  • Monitor, report, and document patient conditions and care provided
  • Offer support to patients, families, and caregivers through continuous communication
  • Adhere to basic infection control protocols
  • Identify and report changes in patients' conditions to the IPU RN
  • Recognize emergencies and apply appropriate emergency procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and family information

Qualifications for the CNA Role:

  • Valid Certified Nurse Aide certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred
