Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Corporate Technology team at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

As a technical leader, you will be responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Requirements:

  • Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Strong in Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.)
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices architecture
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies, with hands-on experience in Angular or React
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation
  • Experience with both relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB)
  • Proficiency with Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Strong understanding of user experience and UI design principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices on AWS is a plus
  • Knowledge of application security best practices and experience implementing them in cloud environments
  • AWS Certified Developer or equivalent certification
