You will develop secure and high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others, and drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.

You will serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus and actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle. You will influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies and add to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
  • Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Requirements
  • Formal training or certification on system design concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platform providers AWS specifically, Azure/GCP
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Advanced knowledge of containerization and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes/EKS)
  • Proficiency with developing microservices (Java or Python)
  • Desire to lead and develop a team of software engineers and help them achieve their potential
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience architecting cloud applications for scalability and high availability
  • Experience with event-driven applications (Apache Kafka)
  • Experience designing & building telemetry & logging capabilities for cloud platforms
  • Certifications in target areas (Cloud/Kubernetes/IaC etc)
