Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or provider, we seek a Medical Office Assistant II to perform routine patient care duties in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This role is responsible for assisting with patient exams and procedures, responding to member phone calls, and providing education to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform nursing care functions such as vital signs, dressing changes, and skin preparation as directed by licensed providers.
  • Recognize and respond to acute emergency situations following established procedures.
  • Draw up injection solutions for immediate use upon physician orders.
  • Orient patients to system policies and practices.
  • Provide instruction sheets based on provider direction and review them with patients.
  • Transport patients using mobile beds or wheelchairs and transfer them to other hospital or clinic areas as directed.
  • Assist licensed providers with patient examinations and treatments, positioning and restraining patients as needed.
  • Provide assistance in treatment rooms during minor surgical procedures and diagnostic examinations.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a program in Medical Office Assistant with certification, or equivalent experience.
  • At least six months of experience in a medical office setting, or one year of experience in pediatrics or equivalent.
  • Valid CPR certification for ambulatory care settings.
