Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Services Director to join our team at the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the administrative, financial, and human resources operations of the Department of Business Services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct the activities of the department in establishing university auxiliary contracts, procurement operations, human resources, and payroll operations to ensure compliance with state and university guidelines.
  2. Direct the activities of the department's business staff, review and approve departmental reconciliations of financial documents, and oversee the review and approval of personnel documents for various departments within the division.
  3. Serve as contract administrator to the University for System auxiliary contracts to ensure contract compliance and monitor vendor performance.
  4. Administer and lead the university's meetings of the contract advisory groups, including System advisory groups.
  5. Oversee the collection, distribution, and reconciliation of contract commissions.
  6. Serve as University mentor/advisor to contract representatives.
  7. Serve as the liaison for the department/division within the University community.
  8. Perform other job-related duties as required.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in a related field. They will have a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline, as well as knowledge of the discipline obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program.

Extensive contract development and management experience is preferred.
