Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Manager to join our team at Bemidji Area Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and directing the maintenance and repairs of all district vehicles to ensure they are safe for transportation of students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and repair of district vehicles, ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Supervise and train employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage and maintain a current Minnesota commercial driver's license (CDL) with school bus endorsement.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and repair strategies to minimize downtime and ensure vehicles are roadworthy.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fleet management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations pertaining to school buses.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including insurance, vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays. If the successful candidate holds an ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification, they will be paid an additional $2.05 per hour.
