Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist I/II and Pharmacist Per Diem Pool I-IV to join our team at Ventura County Medical Center and/or Santa Paula Hospital. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compounds, prepares, and dispenses non-hazardous and hazardous medications, including chemotherapy, solutions, and supplies.
  • Evaluates patient drug therapy and ensures its efficacy and safety.
  • Collaborates closely with healthcare providers to optimize treatment regimens and minimize drug interactions.
  • Participates in department quality assurance activities and performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Requires a pharmaceutical degree, Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Pharmacist I: Some work experience in inpatient and/or outpatient pharmacy practice.
  • Pharmacist II and Pharmacist Per Diem Pool IV: A minimum of four months of recent hospital/clinical/outpatient/inpatient and retail pharmacy experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid State of California license as a Pharmacist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program.
  • Hospital pharmacy experience.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced hospital environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a team setting and communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients.
