Job Overview:

The Chief Accountability Officer plays a critical role in the Superintendent's Office, supporting the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent in high-level administrative and management activities. This position assists in planning, budgeting, policy development, personnel management, and setting goals and direction for the department. The Chief Accountability Officer is responsible for program development and coordination of division administrators, ensuring the effective implementation of department goals, objectives, and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and apply state and federal rules and regulations, including writing guidance documents for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on state and federal laws and regulations related to the divisions and units under this position.
  • Apply knowledge of management, organization, systems design, and theory to drive effective decision-making.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems, considering the big picture and interweaving of moving parts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal audits of programs and apply knowledge of organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead effectively, with extensive experience in personnel practices and the ability to communicate clearly and factually, both orally and in writing.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve conflicts and achieve positive resolutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in organizational management, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of job-related work experience, with three years of senior-level supervision.
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
