Coiling Process Engineer Intern

Lee Spring Company offers a unique opportunity for students interested in coiling, slide forming, and stamping in the dynamic field of spring manufacturing. This hands-on experience provides a comprehensive learning environment where interns gain valuable insights into the intricacies of producing high-quality springs for various industries.
Learning Opportunities:
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the coiling process used in spring manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment utilized in the production of various springs.
Design and Engineering:
- Collaborate with our engineering team to understand the design principles behind different types of springs.
- Contribute to the design and development of spring prototypes using CAD software.
Quality Control:
- Learn about quality assurance measures employed in the spring manufacturing industry.
- Participate in inspections and testing processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Materials:
- Explore real-world problem-solving scenarios related to coiling challenges.
- Understand the role of metals in shaping the mechanical characteristics of springs.
Safety Practices:
- Acquire knowledge of safety protocols and guidelines specific to the spring manufacturing environment.
- Learn about the importance of safety in the operation and maintenance of machinery.
Project Management:
- Contribute to ongoing projects aimed at process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Develop project management skills by working on assignments with clear deliverables and timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments, including production, engineering, and quality assurance.
- Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to the collaborative nature of spring manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a technical school manufacturing program or equivalent.
- Strong interest in the coiling process.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Duration:
This internship program will span up to 400 hours and may be extended based on performance and mutual agreement.
