Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer - Drives and Controls to join our team at ABB. As a Service Engineer - Drives and Controls, you will be responsible for executing service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to identify opportunities to improve their operations and eliminate pain points.
  • Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and perform analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
  • Prepare material lists needed for service activity and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment/process failures, request proactive corrective actions, and make recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering required.
  • 5+ years of related work experience with AC and DC drive systems required.
  • Experience using test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements.
  • Work with ABB & GE drive and control equipment is a plus.
  • Must be able to analyze and test system hardware and software performance applicable OEM integrated machines.
  • Must be available 24/7 based upon business necessity. Up to 70% travel required.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
