Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative II is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient patient registration processes. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient identity and select the correct patient record
  • Review schedules and physician orders to register patients for the appropriate service
  • Scan important documents, such as insurance cards and ID's, and verify and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the electronic health record
  • Explain and complete complex regulatory and compliance documents, adhering to all applicable privacy and compliance standards
  • Collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances, and perform transactions securely
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and ensuring patients arrive at the correct service area at the right time
Requirements:
  • Two years of customer service and/or data entry experience
  • Six months of previous healthcare experience in a related area, with one year preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of two years of experience
  • Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology preferred
