Position Specific Description:

We are in search of a seasoned accountant to join one of the rapidly expanding companies in the Oil & Gas sector.

The ideal candidate will possess onshore experience, a degree in Accounting or Finance, and exceptional Excel skills to bolster the Accounting team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of departmental processes and internal controls, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
  • Identify and implement necessary changes and enhancements.
  • Coordinate the integration of new assets into the accounting system following acquisitions and drilling activities.
  • Review and post all joint interest transactions, including AFE budget and actual data, ensuring accuracy in cost allocation, material transfers, overhead calculations, owner netting, and billing statements.
  • Assist Land in preparing journal entries for DOI estimates.
  • Address inquiries from clients and working interest owners.
  • Ensure timely completion of client accounting closing schedules.
  • Adhere to internal controls and manage both internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and SOX controls.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the monthly payroll and overhead processes, clearing G&A.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects as requested by the JIB Manager/Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Oil & Gas revenue with domestic onshore operators.
  • Strong fundamental accounting skills with hands-on experience in general ledger reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with Oil & Gas systems, particularly Excalibur or Bolo.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated initiative and effective interaction in a team setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with internal and external clients.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Flexibility to accommodate fluctuations in workload, including potential overtime.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to achieve accounting objectives.

Job Overview:

The Senior Accountant will prepare financial reports that comply with GAAP, accurately reflecting the company's financial status in a timely manner.

Maintain a thorough understanding of and apply GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies and procedures.

Ensure the integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls.

Prepare schedules and journal entries while providing guidance and direction to team members.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
