The role of the Community Based Mobile Crisis Worker involves engaging with individuals facing behavioral health emergencies in various community settings. This position is essential in providing immediate support and developing comprehensive service plans tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to individuals in crisis, collaborating with them and their support networks to effectively de-escalate situations.
2. Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough crisis assessments and create safety plans for individuals transitioning to lower levels of care. Ensure follow-up contacts are made to support ongoing recovery.
3. Documentation: Maintain accurate clinical documentation of assessments, interventions, and follow-up services, contributing to the collection of performance indicators.
4. Education and Training: Provide training on mobile crisis response and related skills to community partners as needed, while participating in ongoing training to enhance competencies.
Qualifications
1. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field is required.
2. Experience: A minimum of two to three years of clinical or treatment experience in the behavioral health sector is essential. Consideration will be given to those with experience in acute situations such as emergency response or law enforcement.
3. Certifications: Candidates must possess or be able to obtain QMHA certification within six months of hire. An Oregon Driver's License is also required.
Desirable Skills
- Bilingual and bicultural competencies are preferred.
- Familiarity with mental health symptoms, de-escalation techniques, and community service access is advantageous.
- Strong documentation skills in electronic health records are necessary.
Work Environment
This position requires travel throughout the community to respond to crisis situations, with potential exposure to various environmental factors. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as necessary to support individuals with disabilities.
