Job Title: On Call Youth Care Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide professional care and monitoring of youth activities in our Juvenile Shelter or Detention Facility. As an On Call Youth Care Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising daily activities, ensuring the physical safety and well-being of youth, and maintaining a positive environment within the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and instruct youth in expected daily living, leisure, and work activities
  • Monitor facility diligently to ensure against youth misconduct, runaways, safety hazards, accidents, or fire
  • Perform initial 24-hour intake screening duties for all youth referred during shift
  • Complete documentation and forms regarding admission and releases
  • Inspect and ensure the facility is clean and equipment is in working order
Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Certification(s) required (Food Handler's Certificate, Certified in First Aid and CPR)
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
  • Experience working with youth, preferably in a group or correctional setting
Work Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to physically violent people. You will be required to transport youth alone and travel within and outside the County on a regular basis.
