In your role as a senior officer on the Loss Prevention Team, you will manage and guide the execution of the organization's Shortage Control and Safety initiatives. Your duties will encompass safeguarding the physical well-being of customers, staff, merchandise, and the store's infrastructure. You will cultivate an atmosphere where the presence of the loss prevention team deters any attempts to jeopardize the safety and security of the establishment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and oversee patrols and strategic surveillance to ensure a prominent security presence within the store.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new Shortage Control Associates.
  • Remain informed about the company's Safety and Security protocols.
  • Investigate theft incidents as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Identify, report, and address safety, inventory loss, cash handling, and theft matters while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Supervise safety assessments, provide precise documentation, and communicate potential hazards.
  • Regulate access for associates and visitors to maintain physical security.
  • Monitor surveillance systems if applicable.
  • Represent Burlington in legal proceedings related to Loss Prevention apprehensions.
  • Establish relationships with local law enforcement agencies.

Applicants must be open to working a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. The position involves standing and walking for extended durations and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs. Previous experience in security or retail loss prevention is beneficial.
