In your role as a lead officer on the Loss Prevention Team, you will manage and direct the execution of the company's Shortage Control and Safety initiatives. Your duties will encompass safeguarding the physical well-being of customers, employees, merchandise, and the store's infrastructure. You will foster an atmosphere where the presence of the loss prevention team deters any attempts to jeopardize the safety and security of the store. It is essential to exhibit professionalism and composure, particularly in high-pressure situations, and by ensuring everyone's safety, you will significantly contribute to achieving positive outcomes for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and oversee patrols and strategic surveillance to maintain a visible security presence within the store.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new Shortage Control Associates.
  • Remain informed about the company's Safety and Security protocols.
  • Investigate theft incidents as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Identify, report, and address safety, inventory loss, cash handling, and theft concerns while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Supervise safety inspections, provide accurate documentation, and communicate potential hazards.
  • Control access for employees and visitors to ensure physical security.
  • Monitor CCTV systems if applicable.
  • Represent Burlington in legal proceedings related to Loss Prevention apprehensions.
  • Establish relationships with local law enforcement agencies.

Applicants must be prepared to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. The position involves standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs. Previous experience in security or retail loss prevention is beneficial.
