Help Desk Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Service Desk Technician to join our team at The Rockridge Group. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our clients.
About the Role
- This is a 1-year contract position based in Santa Monica, CA, with the option to work from home 5 days a week.
- You will be the primary point of contact for our clients, resolving moderately complex technical issues and escalating more complex problems to senior team members.
- Your duties will include performing project work under the supervision of a lead or manager, demonstrating excellent communication skills, and possessing a strong customer service attitude.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required.
- Two to four years of experience in configuring, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing printers, PCs, and laptops is essential.
- You should have strong technical knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2003/2007 products, Market Data Applications (e.g., Bloomberg), and telephony environments.
- Moderate proficiency in troubleshooting desktop computer issues, both hardware and software, is also necessary.
- You must be able to manage a work queue in a ticketing system.
Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 technical support for users of desktop hardware and software in the same location and Level 2 technical support for users of desktop hardware and software in remote locations.
- During periods of high call volume, you may delegate problems to a desktop support person from the service desk.
- You will be responsible for staying at the service desk and servicing people over the phone, with some problems being handled in person when necessary.
