Residence Life Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Residence Life Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Residence Life Office, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive living-learning community that fosters academic, social, cultural, and personal growth for our students.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a staff of up to 20 Resident Assistants and oversee the daily activities of buildings housing up to 400 students.
- Conduct regular individual and group supervision meetings, evaluate Resident Assistant performance, and provide support and training for Resident Assistants.
- Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a residential curriculum for the area, develop and implement campus-wide initiatives, and advise student groups in the area.
- Make referrals to University agencies when appropriate, encourage student involvement in residential and University engagement opportunities, promote area government, and advocate for students by communicating their concerns and issues to the appropriate agency.
- Advises individual students with academic, career, and personal concerns, interprets and enforces University and residence hall policies and procedures, and mediates conflicts between and among students.
- Assist with the daily operation and organization of the area and the area office, handle requests for room changes and contract releases, and assist in promoting the safety and security of area residents.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Housing and Food Services, Safety and Security, New Student Programs, etc., and provide on-call duty coverage on a rotating basis.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, and additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions.
- This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
- A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check are also required.
