About the Role

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Political Action Committee and Government Affairs Manager to join our team in Washington D.C. This is a unique opportunity to shape the company's public policy strategy and engage with key stakeholders to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PAC strategy to support business objectives
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the PAC, including education and recruitment efforts
  • Lead fundraising and recruitment efforts to secure new members and retain existing ones
  • Disburse PAC funds to state and federal candidates who support policy issues affecting the company
  • Partner with government affairs teams to draft disbursements budgets and implement plans to support federal and state team strategies
  • Manage the CATPAC Steering Committee, by-laws, and regular audit processes to ensure sound practices
  • Communicate effectively with contributors, the business, and stakeholders to advance the PAC and government affairs strategies
  • Lobby on key policy issues to support Caterpillar's trade and industry association activities in Congress
  • Direct the development and deployment of an innovative grassroots education and engagement strategy to engage and mobilize employee advocates
  • Oversee the production of timely and relevant communications on key public policy issues
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus 10-12 years of progressive experience in PAC management and advocacy
  • Proven experience in managing and growing a corporate or large trade association PAC
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, with ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Extensive knowledge of PAC management and advocacy programs, as well as federal and state laws governing PACs and advocacy
  • Ability to manage and work in a team environment on multiple projects
